It depends on you. Most requested: the Summit Craters Tour to 3,300 m (€120 pp) for hikers in good shape. With kids or little time: the 4x4 jeep tour (€69 pp) or the Sartorius craters walk. No hiking at all: the private cable car & 4x4 tour. For taste: the Etna wine tasting (€65 pp).
Per-person prices range €55 to €120: quad €110 per quad (2 riders, €55 pp), wine tasting €65 pp, 4x4 jeep €69 pp, private cable car & 4x4 €250 per group for the private guide plus €82 pp tickets paid separately, Etna 3000 €104 pp, summit craters €120 pp. The private Sartorius walk is €200 for a group of up to 5.
The Etna Summit Craters Tour: 4x4 from Piano Provenzana to 2,900 m, then a guided hike to the crater rim at about 3,300 m — the highest point open to visitors.
For the summit area, yes: access to the high zones is regulated and requires a certified guide. Lower trails such as Monti Sartorius can be walked independently — a guide adds the geology, the stories and the safety judgement.
