Do I need a guide to visit Mount Etna?
Follow the current ordinances: use an authorised guide where required, and respect closures even when accompanied. Booking a guide does not guarantee summit access.

What altitude can we reach on tours?
The northern summit programme may approach 3,300 m when permitted; the southern cable-car programme around 2,900 m. The Sartorius route is lower but still subject to restrictions. Check each actual itinerary.

What types of tours are available?
Three excursions, all private: the summit craters hike, the cable car & 4x4 tour with about 1 hour 30 minutes walking at altitude and the easy Sartorius walk — all led by certified guides. Reach the mountain meeting point specified on your tour page independently in your own rental car. We do not provide transfers or hotel pick-up. Guiding languages: Italian, English, French and Spanish. Online booking for up to 6 people; larger groups are possible on request.

Do I need to be very fit for a summit hike?
The walk involves loose volcanic ground and substantial uphill and downhill effort at altitude. Our summit programme starts from age 12 and requires good physical condition. Its exclusions include pregnancy, heart or respiratory problems and recent injuries. Discuss relevant health concerns with a clinician before booking; fitness or a guide’s assessment does not provide medical clearance. Transport reduces part of the climb, not the effects of altitude.

Can children join Etna tours?
Minors must be accompanied by adults. Minimum ages are 5 for Sartorius, 6 for Cable Car & 4x4 and 12 for Summit Craters. Age alone does not establish suitability: consider walking ability, health and the requirements of the chosen programme.
Which side of Etna should I choose, north or south?
Choose by programme, walking requirements, meeting point and current access. The south has the cable car; the north has our summit departures.

Practical preparation
What should I wear and bring for an Etna excursion?
Trekking boots, warm layers, a windproof jacket, hat and gloves (even in summer), sunglasses and sunscreen, 1.5 litres of water and snacks. The price includes volcanological guiding. A helmet is included only on the summit craters tour. Other equipment and clothing are not included; arrange any rentals independently on site.
What is the weather like on Mount Etna?
Temperature depends on height, wind and the weather pattern. Check the forecast at the route’s altitude and time, including gusts, precipitation and freezing level; a fixed cooling rate is not a route forecast.

How can I book a tour?
Directly online: on the tour page, pick a free date in the calendar, enter your details and pay securely by card. You immediately receive a confirmation email with the meeting point and all details, plus a reminder the day before.
What payment methods are accepted?
You pay online by card when you book, through SumUp's secure payment pages — your card details never pass through our website. The price is for the whole private group; the extras shown on the tour page (4x4 transfer, cable car tickets) are paid on site on the day.
What is your cancellation policy?
100% refund when you cancel at least 7 days (168 hours) before the excursion starts. 50% refund with less than 7 days but at least 48 hours’ notice. No refund with less than 48 hours’ notice. Date changes are always free, subject to availability. If weather, volcanic activity, safety restrictions, cable car or 4x4 closures, or summit altitude limits prevent the booked route, you choose an alternative route where practicable, a new date or a full refund.
